I hope you can have a talk with the great Dr C today, things will hopefully be clearer then as she will be able to tell you more about how the medication may be affecting the King. I know from experience, years ago, with my cat Leo that chemotherapy for lymphoma can be a very difficult time because there are so many ups and downs along the way. One day they can seem like it is the end and time to say goodbye, the next, showing that they have a lust for life and love. If Mu Shue wants to be with you, then that's what he wants. If he is eating and cuddling and not acting as if he is in pain, that is a good thing. Sending love xx

Dear Laura, I agree with Jane. But obviously be guided by Dr C - and, of course, Mu Shue himself. Sending loving thoughts and healing vibes:) xxx

It's a tough place to be in. One day they are good and the next, very bad. The road is harder for Mu Shue than for you because he has no expectations of you. Our thoughts are with you.

Laura,

I understand the pain and confusion you're going through. I went through similar confusion when Jasper was dying. Everyone told me the same things they're telling you, but I couldn't make the choice as long as I felt like he was trying to fight.

Here are a few things to think about and questions to ask yourself and Mu Shue's doctor.

Is he having more good days than bad?

Is he in pain? Will it get worse? How will he act when it's time?

Are you doing things *to* him or *for* him? In other words, are you trying treatments just because you can or do they really have a chance of helping him?

Question for the dr - What would you do if Mu Shue was your cat?

With Jasper, in the end, it took the vet telling me that he was in constant pain, the things we could do wouldn't help him get better, and that he was experiencing dementia. At that point, I felt that he wasn't Jasper anymore and I was only keeping him going for me, not him. This was over the course of about 2 hours, as Jasper was diabetic and was in a severe crisis. Of course, things are different with Mu Shue, but I hope these ideas can help you.

Sending many purrs & hugs,
Nora bean (mom to Finny Buddy & Jasmine)

Dr C should be able to give you some guidance and some things to "look for" regarding MuShue. I know from experience that days can be very bad and very good and it's never consistent. My thought and prayers are with you Laura.

Just stopping by. Everybody else said really great things - Dr. C will help you - but if Mu Shue wants to fight he should probably be allowed to do so... Nora beans comment was very good.. we think of you!

I know that you are going through a very difficult and confusing time, Laura, and I wish you all the best. Be guided by Dr C and Mu Shue himself. Most cats seem to stop eating when they are ready to go. I keep you in my prayers.

I have never been sorry that I kept Pluto as long as I could. Eventually, there was no more hope, but since he wasn't in any obvious pain and still seemed to enjoy cuddling, I'm glad I waited.

You'll know when it's time, believe me. And your doctors will help you.

Sending lots of purrs and prayers your way ...

Laura, from where we sit you are doing fine for Mu Shue. If he is eating and cuddling, he's still hanging in there, and that is about all you ever can ask for.

It is very hard to see a wonderful kitty be sick. For now he is eating and using the bathroom anf cuddling! As long as he is eating and drinking and seems happy, let him be. I think you will be able to tell when he is depressed. Lets hope that will not be for a while :)

oh you poor thing...this is such a tough place to be. i can only speak from my experience with Stormie...whilst Stormie seemed happy to be around me and Castle, and tried to eat and seemed interested in what was going, I was confident she wanted to remain with us - she didn't appear to be in pain, if she had been he would have isolated herself - and I assume Mu Shue would do the same if he was feeling pain too.

however, it became clear to me when it was time to say goodbye - Storm grew physically weak, she became very skinny, she wobbled on her back legs, she didn't really do anything apart from lay on her cushion or cuddle with me, she wouldn't eat no matter what I tempted her with and when Castle tried to play with her she pushed him away. Her quality of life wasn't what it should have been, she was existing, not living. My vet confirmed to me that there was nothing else we could do for her - and it was then that I decided to release Storm before she started to feel pain or get really sick. Speak to your vet - get some guidance and professional advice from the vet you trust the most and who knows Mu Shue the best.

Chemo can make cats sickie, and the damage caused by chemo to the cancer sites can make them sick too..so if you are only worried about the vomitting and everything else is OK, the fact Mu Shue is eating is a good sign....is Mu Shue playful? Does he seem happy apart from the vomiting? Remain hopeful and be here for your baby....we are purring hard for you, it's a tough time for you xxx
